Reality TV personality Carmen Carrera is best known for starring in the third season of Logo’s show RuPaul’s Drag Race along with its spin-off RuPaul’s Drag U. During the first show, Carrera was presented as a man in drag, but she ended up coming out of the closet as a transgender woman in 2012 when she starred in an episode of ABC’s new program Primetime: What Would You Do? Carmen played a transgender server working at a restaurant in New Jersey who was belittled by an actor playing a rude customer. This was the first time Carmen had publicly announced that she is, in fact, transgender.
